Intelligence,
as a system that runs.
Software · Robotics · Design · Business
Why now
Crossing the gap between research and implementation, as a team.
AI has moved past generating text. It uses tools, runs code, and acts on software and on the world.
But a capable model and a system that runs safely and continuously on site are not the same achievement.
We work on both: OmniHatch, our execution and control infrastructure for AI agents, and Physical AI and robotics built around VLA.
What is needed is to build the technology between the model and reality — the part that does not have a name yet.
Software, robotics, design, business. We are looking for people who will bring their own depth and build with us, all the way to something that is used and keeps running.
- 01
End-to-end
We do not stop at planning or research. Design, implementation, verification, deployment and operation are one piece of work.
- 02
Cross-disciplinary
We work across the lines between software, AI, security, robotics, design and business.
- 03
Evidence first
Get the hypothesis into a real form quickly, then decide the next step from logs, evaluations, what users do and how the machine behaves.
- 04
Small team, large ownership
Nobody waits for a gap between roles to be assigned. You start from your own depth and take on what the product and the company need next.
Open positions
We are hiring across four areas.
A job title is only the way in.
We will shape the scope and the role with you, around your experience and your depth. If you span several of these areas, or are unsure which one fits, we would still like to hear from you.
- 01
Software Engineering
Software Engineer
Build the products and infrastructure that carry an agent's proposed action safely into real software and real work. Your specialism is the starting point, not a fence — you will work across the whole product.
- Areas
- Full-stack · Frontend · Backend · Platform / SRE · AI Agent Infrastructure
- What you would do
- Designing, building and running OmniHatch and the products around it
- Web UI and APIs for execution, authority, approval, audit and change management
- Integrating agents, external tools, data and business systems
- Steadily improving security, observability, reliability and developer experience
- Who we would like to work with
- You have built web applications or cloud systems
- You are strong in at least one of frontend, backend or platform
- You can hold both the user's problem and the technology in view before requirements settle
- You want to see it through — not just design, but build, verify and operate
- 02
Robotics Engineering
Robotics Engineer
Treat perception, learning, planning, control and hardware as one system, and turn an AI's decision into motion that holds in the real world. Reproduce research on real machines, and carry it through to something usable on site.
- Areas
- VLA / Machine Learning · Perception · Motion Planning & Control · ROS 2 / Robot Software · Embedded / Systems · Simulation & Data · Hardware / Mechatronics · Field Integration
- What you would do
- Training, evaluating and integrating Vision-Language-Action models on real hardware
- Perception, localisation, trajectory generation, motion planning and control
- Integrating ROS 2, embedded software, sensors and actuators
- Building simulation, data collection, teleoperation and real-environment testing
- Who we would like to work with
- You have depth in robotics, control, machine learning, embedded systems, or mechanical/electrical design
- You have built things with Python, C++, ROS / ROS 2 or similar
- You move between the logs and the phenomenon, and keep narrowing down what a machine is really doing
- You want to own it past simulation, through to working on site
- 03
Product & Communication Design
Designer
Turn a complex AI system into an experience people can understand, judge and trust. Beyond the product, you will shape how VirtualHatch's technology and its value are communicated.
- Areas
- Product Design · UX / UI · Design System · Brand / Communication
- What you would do
- User research, information architecture, prototyping and UI design
- Designing how execution state, approvals, evidence and exceptions are made legible
- Working with engineers on the design system and on implementation quality
- Brand work across the website, sales material, exhibitions and the product itself
- Who we would like to work with
- You have designed digital products or worked in brand
- You can order complex information into a structure that helps someone decide
- You design more than the surface: requirements, words and interaction too
- You want to build products with engineers and the business team, starting from the hypothesis
- 04
Sales & Business Development
Sales / Business Development
Understand a customer's work and their sites, and turn that into concrete projects where AI agents and Physical AI can be deployed. Not only selling: defining the value with the engineering team, and following it through to the result after deployment.
- Areas
- Enterprise Sales · Business Development · Partnership · Solutions / Pre-sales · Customer Success
- What you would do
- Understanding a company's business problems, and framing the deployment and what success requires
- Proposing and progressing deals around OmniHatch, AI agents and Physical AI
- Working with engineers on requirements, PoCs, production deployment and operational support
- Alliances with partners, and opening up new markets and opportunities
- Who we would like to work with
- You have worked in enterprise sales, business development, consulting or pre-sales
- You can translate a customer's words into technical requirements, and technical value back into theirs
- You care about the outcome after deployment and the long relationship, not only this quarter's order
- You want to learn a fast-moving field and grow both the product and the business
Work style
How we work
- Employment
- Mainly full-time employment. Contract and internship arrangements can be discussed, depending on the role and your experience.
- Location
- Our office in Shibuya, Tokyo. How you work and how often you come in is discussed against the role and the project.
- Hands-on roles
- Roles that need work on real hardware, robotics in particular, involve time in the development environment and at customer sites.
- Compensation
- Offered individually through the process, against the role, your depth, your experience and how you will work.
Process
How hiring works
- 01
Informal conversation
If you are unsure which role fits, start with a conversation before any formal process.
- 02
Materials
A CV, portfolio, GitHub, published research — whatever fits the role.
- 03
Interviews
Your experience, your depth and the problems you want to work on, with the founders and the team.
- 04
Offer
The role, what we expect, how you will work, compensation and a start date — agreed on both sides.
The order and number of steps is adjusted to the role and to how well we have got to know each other. For engineering and design roles we may ask to talk through an exercise or a piece of your work.
Apply / Open application
A conversation is a fine place to start.
You do not have to match one of these roles exactly. Tell us what you want to work on and what you have done, and send along a portfolio or GitHub if you have one.
On the contact form, choose "採用について" (Careers) under the type of enquiry.
